Product Description

Candelilla wax, also known as tung oil wax, is a natural plant-derived wax obtained from the candelilla plant. It appears as a pale yellow to yellow-brown glossy solid or powder with a mild aromatic odor. It is a hard, brittle wax containing special resin components that provide excellent resistance to temperature changes.

Candelilla wax has a relative density of about 0.983, a melting point of 67–68℃, an iodine value of 37, and a refractive index of 1.4555. It is soluble in chloroform, hot petroleum ether, toluene, and alkaline solutions, slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in water.

Candelilla Wax is a natural vegetable wax extracted from candelilla shrubs native to northern Mexico. It features high melting point, hard texture and matte non-greasy finish. Widely used in cosmetics for lip balms, lipsticks, mascaras and skincare balms to enhance hardness and shape retention. It also serves as binder and gloss stabilizer in candle, furniture polish and leather care products. In food industry, it acts as coating agent for fruits, candies and chewing gum. Besides, it’s added to printing inks, plastic masterbatches and rubber as anti-blocking and lubricating additive.
