Dextran CAS #9004-54-0

Biocompatible Glucose Polymer: Dextran is a naturally derived glucose polymer with α-1,6-glucopyranosidic linkages, offering good biocompatibility for biological and medical applications.

Versatile Use in Biotechnology: It is widely used in bead form for bioreactor systems, size-exclusion chromatography matrices, and osmotic stress studies involving biological molecules.

Effective Nanoparticle Stabilizer: Dextran can serve as a stabilizing coating that protects metal nanoparticles from oxidation, improving their stability and performance.

Supports Circulatory Function in Medical Applications: Dextran 70 can remain in the intravascular space and contribute to plasma colloid osmotic pressure, while also helping inhibit platelet aggregation and promoting fibrinolysis.

Product Description

Dextran is a glucose polymer mainly linked by α-1,6 bonds, produced by Leuconostoc mesenteroides and related bacteria.

It is used in bioreactors, size-exclusion chromatography, and osmotic stress studies, and can also stabilize metal nanoparticles against oxidation.

Different molecular weights are used in medical applications; for example, Dextran 70 stays in the bloodstream to maintain plasma oncotic pressure but may inhibit platelet aggregation and promote fibrinolysis at high doses.

Product Application

Kojic acid (CAS No. 501-30-4) has broad applications in multiple industries. In cosmetics, it is widely used in whitening creams and skincare products due to its ability to inhibit tyrosinase activity and provide antioxidant effects, helping reduce pigmentation and freckles. It is also added to sunscreen formulations to improve UV protection.

In the food industry, its antioxidant and antibacterial properties help preserve fruits, vegetables, and meat, and maintain the color of processed foods such as fruit juices. In pharmaceuticals, kojic acid is used in treating hyperpigmentation conditions like melasma and may also act as an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory ingredient in topical preparations.

In addition, it is used in agriculture as a plant growth regulator and in industrial applications as an antioxidant and metal ion chelating agent.
