Product Description
Melamine Phosphate (MP) is a highly effective halogen-free flame retardant, generally available as a white powder with the molecular formula C₃H₉N₆O₄P and a molecular weight of 224.12. It is slightly soluble in water and methanol, with a solubility in water of approximately 3.9 g/L at 20°C. The product demonstrates good chemical stability under normal storage and handling conditions.
Melamine Phosphate is widely used as a flame-retardant additive in plastics, coatings, textiles, and other polymer-based materials. It improves flame resistance by releasing non-combustible gases, such as nitrogen, and facilitating the formation of a protective char layer, thereby reducing heat transfer and helping to suppress the spread of fire.
