Product Description of Polytetrahydrofuran CAS#24979-97-3
Polytetrahydrofuran (C₄H₈O)n, also known as poly(tetramethylene ether) glycol (PTMEG) or polytetramethylene ether glycol, is a polymeric polyether diol. It is a colorless to slightly yellow viscous liquid or waxy solid depending on its molecular weight. PTMEG has excellent flexibility, elasticity, hydrolysis resistance, and low-temperature properties, making it an important raw material for the production of polyurethane and other specialty polymers.

Product Application of Polytetrahydrofuran CAS#24979-97-3
Polytetrahydrofuran is primarily used as a soft-segment component in the production of polyurethane elastomers, spandex fibers, and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). It is also widely used in synthetic leather, coatings, adhesives, sealants, and specialty elastomers.
In polyurethane applications, PTMEG contributes to excellent elasticity, flexibility, abrasion resistance, and low-temperature performance. It is also used in the production of high-performance materials for textiles, footwear, automotive components, and other industrial applications.
