Pancreatin CAS#8049-47-6

Multi-enzyme complex – Contains a powerful blend of pancreatic amylase, protease, and lipase for comprehensive digestive support.

High enzymatic activity – Efficiently converts at least 25 times its weight of starch and casein, demonstrating strong catalytic performance.

Optimal activity in neutral to mild alkaline media – Performs best under physiological pH conditions, making it highly suitable for digestive and pharmaceutical applications.

Rich in enzyme precursors – Also contains trypsinogen, chymotrypsinogen, and carboxypeptidase, providing broader enzymatic functionality after activation.

Product Description of Pancreatin CAS#8049-47-6

Pancreatin is an enzyme mixture derived from fresh pig or ox pancreas, mainly containing amylase, protease, and lipase. It helps break down starch into soluble carbohydrates and hydrolyze proteins into smaller peptides, with optimal activity in neutral to slightly alkaline conditions and reduced stability in strong acid or alkali environments.

It is produced through alcohol or water extraction followed by precipitation, and contains inactive enzyme precursors that are activated in the intestine. Pancreatin is used for food digestion and hydrolysate preparation, but its oral activity may be limited due to degradation by gastric acid and pepsin.

Product Application of Pancreatin CAS#8049-47-6

Pancreatin is an enzyme preparation derived from porcine pancreas that helps digest starch by converting it into dextrins and sugars. It is used as a lipase replacement therapy for conditions such as steatorrhea and pancreatic diabetes. It is also utilized in the treatment of formalin-fixed arterial graft tissues while preserving fiber integrity, as well as in contact lens processing applications.

Additionally, pancreatin is used to support the management of pancreatic insufficiency-related disorders, including after pancreatectomy, pancreatitis, and cystic fibrosis.
